Wine Composition
100% Sauvignon Blanc
Winemakers Comments
An elegant Sauvignon with concentrated fruit purity, this wine has a superbly complex nose featuring floral notes followed by blackcurrant, passion fruit, lime and grapefruit interspersed with subtle notes of fynbos. The palate is generous with broad layers of flavor. A vibrant acidity lends balance, while the finish is long and savory. Impressive structure and intensity with the excellent aging potential of a cool climate Sauvignon Blanc. Partly wooded

Winemaker
Name - Erika Obermeyer
Winery
Growing up on her family’s sheep farm near Sutherland in the arid Karoo she spent hours exploring the veld with her canine companion.
With a passion for the outdoors combined with an affinity for Maths and Science Erika had her sights set on studying medicine and enrolled for a Bachelor of Science degree at Stellenbosch University. It was here that the wine bug bit.
After graduating from Stellenbosch University with a BSc and BSc Honours in Wine Biotechnology in 1998 she was appointed as Assistant Winemaker at Kleine Zalze in Stellenbosch in 1999. Completing harvest tenures in Sancerre St Emilion and Beziers France she gained an appreciation for the balance and elegance of the wines of these regions.
Following her time at Kleine Zalze she accepted a winemaker position at Graham Beck Wines in 2005. After a brief stint under the mentorship of Charles Hopkins then-Cellar Master at Franschhoek, Erika found herself the sole winemaker in a world class cellar and living her dream.
Drawing on her extensive training and rewarding career as a winemaker and marketer with invaluable experience locally and abroad, she took a leap of faith and started her own label in 2016 and that is how Erika Obermeyer came to start her own winery and brand.
