Vintage/Vineyard
The only Shiraz vineyard on GlenWood finally achieved the desired balance to produce premium quality grapes. Well balanced growth delivers even ripeness and beautiful structure. A fantastic red wine vintage. The grapes reached optimum ripeness with ease, and the balance between yield and growth needed minimal interference.
Cellar Techniques
The best quality grapes were selected, gently crushed and fermented in half-ton open-top fermenters. The grapes were punched down by hand 6 times a day and fermented until dry. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation in barrel and was matured for 18 months in 2nd fill French oak to produce a well-integrated, complex profile.

Winery
GlenWood is a family owned boutique winery located in an area of outstanding natural beauty very close to Franschhoek.
The winery has been developed over the last thirty three years to become a leading South African wine producer and all their wines are made from grapes produced on their land, thereby reflecting the unique terroir of their small valley. The wines are uniformly and consistently highly rated by wine judges and have received numerous awards and prestigious listings.
As part of their commitment to protecting the environment, they have dedicated ten hectares to the regeneration of indigenous Cape fynbos and use only environmentally-friendly farming practices. Their accreditation by WIETA attests to the seriousness with which they view the development of their people as a key ingredient of their success. On the wider front, they are heavily involved in a number of projects within the Franschhoek community, most notably “Bhabhathane”, whose objective is to transform education in the Franschhoek valley.
