Winemakers Comments
Deep ruby red color to the eye. The olfactory profile is complex and broad with notes of red and black fruits, macerated flowers, spices and hints of minerals. When tasted, it is full-bodied, elegant, harmonious and intensely persistent

Cellar Techniques
The soils of Clos St Patrice are just as unique as the wine they produce: the dark brown sandy soils that cover most of the Clos give way to a yellow sandy type of soil that covers the rocky substrate, partly covered in worn pebbles.
Whole crops apply for up to 80%. Pre-fermentation maceration and alcoholic fermentation are done in concrete tanks exclusively. Light pumping-over and infusion of grape residues for close to five weeks. Ageing in concrete vats for 14 months. Wines are bottled during the spring and stored in the cellars for a full year before sale.

As far back as 1838 the Clos Saint Patrice was known as one of the best vineyards in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. It was purchased in 2009 by the Julian family, the latest generation of a small family of local winemakers, and in 2015, with the entry of Samuel Montgermont, the Domaine St. Patrice was officially born, bearing the name of the famous cru. Clos Saint Patrice represents all that Châteauneuf-du-Pape has to offer in terms of elegance, balance, strength and minerality, and is grown organically. The vineyard has an extension of only 1.8 hectares and is made up of ancient grenache and mourvedre vines, coming from an ancestral mass selection. In addition to this great vineyard, the company owns small plots within the appellation and some hectares outside the village, from which a red with the appellation Côtes-du-Rhône AOC is produced.
