Wine Composition
100% Shiraz
Winemakers Comments
The Syrah is expressive in the cooler climate aroma profile and showcases the under toned spice and herb profile, lined with elegant tannins. Lighter and more elegant in style, this wine is layered with red fruit aromas and has spicy notes of black pepper.
For this range, the winemakers are encouraged to experiment with different styles and winemaking techniques using small batches of site-specific grapes. The first Shiraz crop from Elgin vineyards was harvested in 2010, which was a 5-barrel run under the Artisan range. The Artisan Casey’s Ridge Syrah 2013 was chosen for the Sommelier’s Selection 2016 Wine list.
