Winemakers Comments
Vibrant purple with pink hues. Perfumed on the nose with red and black cherry fruit, violets, spice and dried herbs with a touch of vanilla and smoke. Lush, supple red fruit on the palate with leather, tobacco, and hints of chocolate. This wine has ample silky, fine-grained tannins, a fresh and vibrant acidity and a long mineral finish.

Cellar Techniques
We’ve selected clones 5 and 115 to produce his first ‘Special Edition’ Pinot Noir. The fruit was hand harvested on 21st and 27th March 2014. The fruit was destemmed into stainless steel tanks before being inoculated with selected wine yeasts to carry out the fermentation. The wine was aged in French oak barriques for 7.5 months of which approximately 24% was new oak.

Wild Earth is a Central Otago, New Zealand Winery. Our Restaurant and Cellar Door are located in the heart of Central Otago where we produce some delectable examples of the regions Pinot Noir, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir Rose. Wine Tastings are available daily and we also have catering available for any of your special events.
Just like the many other wineries of the pristine areas of Central Otago, our pride and passion are our Pinot. Our clay, schist, silty loam soils and alpine climate produce a wine that is one of a kind. Each year the precious terroir gifts us luscious bunches of Pinot pleasure. With each exciting vintage, we are blessed with a new understanding, as caretakers of this land. Our hearts bloom in Bannockburn's Felton Road. We are a small family owned winery who produces award-winning Pinot Noir and also some wonderful examples of aromatic Pinot Gris, sweet and dry style Rieslings and beautiful Pinot Noir Rosé and we are now onto our third Chardonnay Vintage! We only use French oak for barrel maturation.
