Zinfandel is lighter in color than both Cab and Merlot. Although a
light-bodied red wine with moderate tannin and high acidity make it
taste bold. It often explodes with candied fruitiness followed by
spice and often a tobacco-like smoky finish. White Zinfandel is not
a grape variety but a method of processing Zinfandel grapes. It
offers low alcohol, low calories and pleasing sweet taste, and
should be drunk within 6 months.
